About the Role
Goodwin Cowley Solicitors is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner to join its busy and growing Conveyancing Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and capable conveyancing professional to take the next step in their legal career within a supportive and progressive firm. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters from initial instruction through to completion, with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision.
The role would suit an individual who is confident handling residential conveyancing transactions independently, provides excellent client care, and has long-term aspirations to contribute to the continued growth and success of the department.
The successful candidate will work closely with other fee earners and support staff, providing assistance to colleagues where required and playing an important role in maintaining the firm’s high standards of service to its established client base.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include:

Managing residential conveyancing transactions from initial instruction through to completion.

Handling a varied caseload, including sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and other residential property matters.

Reviewing, drafting and advising on legal documents, including contracts, deeds, mortgage documentation and transfer documents.

Conducting title investigations and ensuring that any title issues are identified and appropriately addressed.

Liaising effectively with clients, estate agents, lenders, other solicitors and third parties throughout each transaction.

Preparing and submitting all documentation required to progress and complete transactions.

Ensuring that completion formalities are dealt with accurately and efficiently.

Providing clear, professional and responsive client care throughout the conveyancing process.

Assisting other fee earners and colleagues where required.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:

A minimum of 3 years’ PQE or equivalent experience in residential conveyancing, although this is preferred rather than essential.

Strong knowledge of residential property law, conveyancing procedures and applicable regulations.

Experience managing a residential conveyancing caseload independently.

Excellent client care, communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to manage multiple transactions effectively and work to deadlines.

Confidence using case management systems and other relevant legal technology.

Previous experience supervising junior colleagues and support staff.

A proactive, ambitious and commercially minded approach.

A genuine desire to develop their career and contribute to the growth of the department.
