Salary: From £50,000, dependent on experience

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to lead our Private Client department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented legal professional to take responsibility for an established team, contribute to the continued growth of the department, and play a key role in delivering the Firm’s strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Management Team and will be responsible for the day-to-day running, supervision and development of the Private Client team across our offices in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include:

Managing the day-to-day operation of the Private Client department, including the monitoring and allocation of matters.

Supervising fee-earning work undertaken by junior members of the team.

Managing and supporting the department’s administrative and support services.

Meeting clients, taking instructions and progressing matters efficiently.

Advising on all aspects of wills, probate, trusts and related private client work.

Ensuring fee earners achieve their individual targets.

Maintaining accurate, orderly and up-to-date files, including electronic files, in accordance with the Firm’s file management policies.

Completing time records and other management records required by the Firm.

Cross-referring work and clients within the Firm where appropriate.

Ensuring compliance with the Firm’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Managing departmental financial performance, including billing, payment procedures and cash flow.

Identifying and developing fee-earning opportunities.

Producing fee income in line with agreed targets and objectives.

Carrying out fee-earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the Firm’s quality and risk procedures.

Keeping up to date with changes in law and practice relevant to Private Client work.

Leading business development and marketing initiatives for the department.
About You
The successful candidate will have:

At least 5 years’ PQE or equivalent experience.

Strong technical knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of Private Client matters.

Confidence using case management systems and other relevant legal technology.

Extensive experience in wills, probate, trusts and related private client work.

The ability to manage and develop your own caseload independently.

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and support fee earners within the team.

A commercial approach and the ability to make business development decisions in line with the Firm’s objectives.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple offices.

A strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
